Join with GFOA in giving back to the St. Louis community by participating and contributing to the following opportunities onsite:
Operation Food Search is dedicated to ending hunger in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.
GFOA has organized a volunteer project at their warehouse to create family meal kits on Sunday, May 6, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Roundtrip shuttle buses will leave from the convention center at 10:00 am. This project is limited to 100 volunteers and can include guests. In order to sign up, please complete the application (PDF) and send it to Judy Coyman at Operation Food Search (Judy.Coyman@OperationFoodSearch.org) by May 2. In the subject of the e-mail, please write “GFOA Volunteer” and in the body of the e-mail please include your name and mobile number. On the day of the volunteer project, please dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes.
Stop by their table in the convention center to see items needed for family meal kits. Check out food displays of what a difference $1, $5, or $10 could make to a family in need. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please go to the Operation Food Search DonorPage.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home to families of seriously ill children and support to organizations that serve the needs of children.
We will be holding a drive for new and unused books, stuffed animals, and toys at the convention center. Please pack an item(s) to bring with you and look for the collection bins in the convention center.
Please also save your pop tops from any soda cans to bring with you to St. Louis and while onsite. We will have marked containers in the convention center to collect the tabs. The tops are recycled and turned into a monetary donation. Annually, these little tabs help generate almost $25,000!
The mission of the St. Louis Bank is to feed hungry people by distributing food throughout the bi-state region and engage the community in the fight against hunger.
Stop by their table in the convention center to create a cheerful note that will be included in meal boxes delivered to the area’s senior citizens. Cards will be provided.
