Brian W. Caputo, Ph.D., C.P.A.
Brian W. Caputo became the Vice President for Administration and Treasurer (Chief Financial Officer) at the College of DuPage in March 2017. Previously, he served for nearly 19 years as the Chief Financial Officer/City Treasurer of the City of Aurora, Illinois. Dr. Caputo’s earlier experience in public finance included positions with the Villages of Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, and LaGrange, Illinois. In addition, he worked as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in Chicago.
In 2015, Dr. Caputo became a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. He is a past president of the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA) and a past chair of the IGFOA’s Technical Accounting Review Committee. He has also served as an adjunct professor of public finance at Northern Illinois University (NIU).
Dr. Caputo holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University, and an M.P.A. from NIU. He earned a Ph.D. degree from NIU with fields of study in public administration, public policy, and government finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Public Finance Officer.
