Job Description: 

The position reports directly to the Finance Director and performs complex professional and administrative budget work. Plans, organizes, coordinates, prepares and administers the annual City-wide operational and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budgets. Some of the duties and responsibilities include: developing and finalizing the proposed budget for submission to Mayor and Council; assisting City Departments in the preparation of their departmental section of the proposed budget; developing and implementing monthly and quarterly reporting procedures; submitting the City budget to GFOA for review; overseeing and monitoring the investment activities of the City. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance; Masters Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration preferred. Minimum of five (5) years experience in governmental accounting, fixed asset accounting, budgeting and fiscal administration is preferred. Progressively responsible experience in budget management and analysis. Good communicative and public speaking skills, and ability to deal effectively with the public is essential. Working knowledge of computerized systems is required. Advanced use of spreadsheet, word processing and report writing software applications is required. Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record in accordance with City policy and must be bondable. A full job description is available on the City's website.
