Most governments understand the importance of fiscal transparency. Many share financial data in various formats to satisfy compliance reporting requirements, build trust with citizens, and/or satisfy basic accountability and good governance. The ability to share financial data online has made transparency easier in some respects yet more difficult in others. This session will focus on how to be financial transparency online by exploring case studies and lessons learned from online financial transparency initiatives in local government.
