This year's 100th annual conference in Montréal will offer an unprecedented opportunity for public finance professionals from across Canada to gather together to explore issues of common concern from a specifically Canadian perspective. The forum for this unique sharing of ideas and experiences will be the GFOA's first-ever "Canadian Day," scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2006. A key theme of the day will be how to meet the financial challenge posed by aging and deteriorating infrastructure. Speakers and panelists will include a rich cross section of Canadian public finance professionals, including the Auditor General of Canada, as well as representatives from the international community. While advance registration is required, there is no extra charge for those who are already registered for the annual conference.
