Darlene Malaney is Director of Finance Services for the Clerk & Comptroller of Palm Beach County, Florida. Darlene has nearly two decades of institutional finance and investment experience, specializing in work with Florida local governments. In her current role, she oversees several divisions, including: Revenue/Cash Management, Payables, Financial Reporting, Business Analysis, Payroll and Palm Beach County’s $1.5 billion dollar investment program.
Prior to her current position, she spent several years in the private sector as an investment consultant specializing in governmental retirement plans. Darlene has also served as Director of Finance & Investments for Citizens Property Insurance and as Associate Director of Financial Services for the Florida League of Cities.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from The Florida State University and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation, administered by the Investment Management Consultants Association, and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Darlene is also a graduate of Florida State University’s Certificate in Financial Planning program and has obtained both the Series 6 and 65 Securities Licenses. She is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of South Florida, the GFOA, the Florida GFOA, and is President of the Palm Beach County FGFOA. Darlene is a frequent speaker on the fiduciary responsibilities of local governments and various investment related topics.
