Located in one of the most scenic areas of Washington, the City of Port Angeles, (pop. 19,000), is situated on the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula which offers spectacular natural attractions. The City of Port Angeles operates under the Council-Manager form of government and is a full-service city staffed with approximately 248 employees and has a total budget for 2017 of $117 million. Along with general accounting and budgeting services, the Finance Department is also responsible for customer service, centralized switchboard, reprographics, and coordinating and supporting the entire information networking and computer services used by city departments. The Finance Department employs 24.8 FTE's and has a 2017 budget of $5.89 million, including $860,200 for the Finance Administration division, $891,800 for the Finance Accounting division, $1,017,500 for Finance Customer Services, and $3,127,400 for IT.

Under general direction of the City Manager, the Finance Director plans, directs, and administers the Finance Department involving financial and debt management, accounting, budget and financial planning, treasury, information systems, and customer services for utilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration or related field. Master's degree and/or CPA Certification preferred. Experience as a department director or five years in a management capacity, directing the financial services of a municipality, including investments and budget administration, and managing information system activities.
