About the City Treasurer Position Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the City Treasurer provides strategic guidance, policy development, and day-to-day supervision of treasury staff to ensure that all applicable City policy, contractual, and compliance requirements are met, and to support achievement of the City's corporate financial strategies. The City Treasurer leads a team of direct reports to deliver centralized banking, cash management, and merchant service solutions to Bureau customers; negotiates and manages contracts for the City's banking, merchant, and investment related services; develops and maintains City's Investment Policy and administers the City's $1.5 billion investment program. The City Treasurer is the business owner for the City's compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, serves on the City's Deferred Compensation Plan Committee, chairs the City's Investment Advisory Committee, and administers the City's foreclosure sale program The City Treasurer plans and manages the work of Treasury Division staff; proactively develops collaborative relationships with programmatic and finance staff throughout the City and with peer BRFS Division Managers; identifies technological solutions for delivering treasury services; collaborates on the development and maintenance of City's Comprehensive Financial Management Policies; and, provides leadership in programs and activities that promote workplace diversity and a positive employee relations environment.
