The Intermediate Accounting Clerk will be responsible for preparing complex bank and general ledger reconciliations. The Intermediate Accounting Clerk will also assist with the preparation of GST and PST returns, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules. Your attention to detail will be utilized when reconciling and balancing accounts, preparing journal entries and government reporting, and assisting the Senior Accountant as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Grade 12 education, plus 3 years of recognized accounting program (CPA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar or related environment; • Municipal experience is an asset; • Knowledge of the principals, procedures, policies, and regulations of professional accounting practices and PSAB; • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); • Experience with Vadim software would be an asset; • Aptitude for working with numbers / arithmetic calculations; • Ability to operate a calculator with speed and accuracy; • The ability to compose and type routine correspondence; • Sustained high attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy.
