Job Description: 

County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) is recruiting for the position of Accounting and Finance Consultant for the Tennessee area.

This position provides program design, support and delivery for all aspects of the County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) Certified County Finance Officer (CCFO). This includes the design of financial and accounting based curriculum, content and delivery modes, including technology driven or assisted models. This position designs, validates, implements, assesses and accredits the new program and provides continual assessment and coordination, support and revision of such existing programs. This position continually researches and develops evolving needs and means to improve the Financial and accounting skill set of local appointed and elected leaders, by providing statewide-customized training modules, supervisory institutes, retreats, and the development, delivery and assessment of web based leadership courses for CTAS client base. The position performs other special projects assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications

The minimum requirements for the position:

Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in one of the following fields: Accounting or related field. Master’s degree preferred. CPA or CGFM also preferred.

Experience: 6 years minimum experience in Accounting or Finance related fields.

Job Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written. This job requires a high level of organization skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize projects. The willingness to travel statewide with overnight travel. Knowledge of governmental accounting and understanding of general accounting theory or willingness to acquire knowledge necessary.
