The City of West Hollywood is seeking a well-qualified Accounting Manager to lead staff in the provision of responsive, accurate and progressive financial services in support of City officials and municipal operations.
The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Finance & Technology Services and oversees a $16.9 million operational budget with responsibility for maintaining the City’s general ledger and the recording and reporting of all financial transactions. The Accounting Manager leads a professional staff of six serving the City’s internal and external customers, staff and management. The General Accounting Division insures compliance with internal controls, the City’s financial policies and the budget and prepares various financial reports for state and federal agencies. The Accounting Manager position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a directly related field. Certifications in Public Accounting and/or Public Finance Officer is desirable, plus at least four years of progressively responsible Accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strongly preferred is public sector government finance experience coupled with previous experience with the Tyler’s Eden Finance System.
