Job Description: 

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine is seeking an energetic and dedicated professional to fill the Financial Services Officer position. Under the direction of the Business Operations Manager, this position is responsible for all budget and finance operations, including purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and cash and revenue control. The Financial Services Officer directly supervises five accounting staff and two analysts.

The selected candidate will: Coordinate and oversee all fiscal, accounting, and purchasing duties for the Department; Review and approve online purchasing, accounting, and budget transactions on a daily basis; Coordinate preparation of the Department's budget and monitor compliance throughout the year; Ensure proper operational and cash controls are in place to guarantee effective use of City resources; Conduct periodic cash control training classes; Oversee the annual fixed asset inventory and the fixed asset tracking systems; Coordinate the year-end closing process, including preparing year-end closing documents; Act as liaison to various City Departments in coordination of Department matters, including Financial Management, City Auditor's Office, Human Resources and Technology & Innovation; Perform other related duties as required.
