Denver Water’s Finance Division/Accounting Section is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as an Accountant (Finance Analyst). Under general supervision this position will prepare and analyze financial and general information relevant to the work area including booking journal entries, processing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial data, budgeting & forecasting, reporting, documenting, and analyzing metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Provide primary oversight for Denver Water’s Expense Management System. Includes training and providing assistance to users, trouble-shooting issues, reconciling the system and related PCard transactions to the General Ledger, etc. •Posts accounts payable voucher batches and processes bi-weekly accounts payable check runs •Analyze, reconcile and process all unclaimed checks •Supports other accounting functions such as daily bank activities, invoicing processes, •Responsible for resolving and completing inquiries and requests to meet deadlines. •Thoroughly and accurately gather, review and analyze information with supervision appropriate to their level. •Regularly exercise judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action. •Maintains positive, open communication with customer, to ensure understanding of expectations and creation of a positive working partnership. •Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: •Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field. •Minimum 2 years of related work experience. •Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Accounting Degree / Accountant
Licenses, Registration and Certifications: •May require HIPAA Training.
