The Town of Hillsborough is seeking a purchasing manager to perform responsible professional level accounting and purchasing work to provide a centralized source of procedures, information and support services related to the town's procurement of goods and services, contracting, and bidding activities in accordance with all applicable purchasing rules and regulations. This employee will also be responsible for performing, and indirectly supervising one employee's performance of, general and specialized accounting functions associated with accounts payable.
Position Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or public administration and three years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Achievement of the Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer credential is required within 24 months of employment (obtained via the UNC School of Government). One or more certification from the following organizations is preferred: Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing, National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, and the National Purchasing Institute.
