The City of Culver City is seeking a dynamic, experienced professional with strong collaborative leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in all areas of municipal finance to lead the City’s Finance Department as the Chief Financial Officer. The City (population approximately 40,000) boasts a vibrant, stable, and strategically located community ideal for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the City manager and maintains a key leadership role in the financial oversight of the City. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferably in accounting, economics, finance, public or business administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. Five (5) years of recent, paid professional financial management experience in a municipal government setting, including a minimum of three (3) years’ experience at a managerial level is required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA); or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) and knowledge of Tyler Technologies: Munis financial software is desired. The salary for the Chief Financial Officer is up to $216,037 annually (2.5% COLA effective July 2019); placement within the range will depend on qualifications and experience.
