Cecil County’s Finance Department is seeking a Senior Billing Coordinator with a starting salary hourly rate of $21.69 (Grade 117N).This professional, under general supervision, creates and maintains billing systems for personal and real property taxes, benefit assessments and other miscellaneous billings; provides assistance with landfill and sewer billings; provides effective customer service; reconciles various reports; performs all other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Position requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field; Two (2) or more years’ experience in A/R (billing experience); a general knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting; knowledge of governmental billing and receivable processes; possess excellent organizational skills; possess demonstrated proficiency in MS Office programs, accounting software and 9-key calculator. Duties: Include, but are not limited to, maintaining accounts, and preparing billings on schedule, providing customer service with regard to billing and payment issues; reconciling customer account activity; preparing and reconciling reports for tax payments between the County and state agencies; answering questions via telephone, letter, or email; preparing and reconciling tax payment reports between the County and towns; verifies assessment rates; prepares and reconciles Federal and State mandated financial reports; updates property tax records for real and personal taxes; assists with Annual tax sale; and performs all other duties as directed.
