Job Description: 

The City of Dubuque, Iowa (population 58,000) invites applications for the position of Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operational leadership of the City accounting and finance functions and the communication and coordination with departments and Director of Finance and Budget regarding City finances. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in financial management; experience in all aspects of managing staff and direct involvement in preparing the Certified Annual Finance Report (CAFR), complemented by full responsibility for overseeing and managing the organization’s annual financial audit; experience working with and supervising a diverse workforce; a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field; a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration or certification as a Certified Public Accountant or certification as a Certified Public Finance Officer is desired; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to follow a management style that is input oriented and values equity, problem solving and the development of partnerships and a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork. The City offers an annual salary range of $76,752 to $100,318, and an attractive benefit package.
