2009 Annual Golf Tournament Winners Announced

The GFOA's annual golf tournament on Sunday, June 28, 2009 was coordinated by the GFOA's Local Seattle Conference Committee and took place at the Harbour Pointe Golf Course in Mukilteo, Washington. Players enjoyed picturesque views of the Puget Sound amidst Washington's towering evergreen trees.

Seventy-two golfers participated in the tournament. After the event, lunch was provided and awards and prizes were distributed to participants.

The tournament format was a scramble in which each member of the team tees off and the next shot is taken from the spot of the best shot. That format continues until the ball is in the hole.

Two teams tied for Low Gross score at 9 under par (score without handicaps). The team of Ken Wheatley, Alan Kalt, and Tharon Kalt won the tie breaker and were awarded 1st place. Second place went to the team of Nancy Munoz, Doug Chin, Robert Pendergast, and Andrew SanFilippo.

A handicap system was used to determine the Net score winners.  The team of Lloyd Russell, Ed Hankins, Jeff May, and Keith Grayson were awarded first place Low Net score at 16 under par. Second place went to the team of Ronald Ahsmuhs, Nancy Ahsmuhs, and Robert Colwell with a score of
13 under par.

Men's longest drive was awarded to Alan Kalt. Ladies longest drive was awarded to Wendy Joseph.

Closest to the pin awards on the par 3 holes were awarded to Michelle Williamson and Janice Erickson, as well as to Doug Chin and Robert Lomans.
