Sofia Anastopoulos is a principal at Public Funds Consulting.  She helps public sector clients implement best practices in areas of treasury and investment management, including areas of internal control, policies and procedures, cash flow forecasts, investment policies, procurement of investment adviser and banking services.  She also is a frequent contributor to the GFOA Treasury and Investment Management newsletter.

Formerly a vice president of relationship management with investment adviser Chandler Asset Management, she helped ensure the delivery of services to firm clients.  She started her public finance career at GFOA. At GFOA, she was responsible for the GFOA’s treasury and investment management initiatives, including serving as senior staff on the GFOA committee on Treasury and Investment Management, editing the Association’s Treasury and Investment Management Newsletter, which focuses on issues relevant to public sector investors, serving as instructor for the GFOA and regional associations and contributing to GFOA’s various publications.

Sofia currently serves as an adviser on the GFOA’s Committee on Treasury and Investment Management.

Ms. Anastopoulos is a graduate of Northwestern University and received an MBA in marketing from DePaul University in Chicago.  She holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the CFA Institute, the Chicago CFA Society, Women in Public Finance, and Women Investment Professionals.
