L. Roger Hutson
L. Roger Hutson is the President/CEO of HRM Resources II LLC. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, HRM Resources, a portfolio company of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P. / Kayne Energy Funds, specializes in direct investments in oil and gas assets, led by a senior management team that has worked together for close to 2 decades. With strong engineering and technical expertise and a skilled team of employees, HRM strives to increase the value of each of its assets by controlling costs, improving efficiency, and increasing production. HRM purchases properties with a high percentage of producing reserves, implements exploitation projects to increase production, and operates the majority of its own assets. Through this process, HRM is able to control day-to-day operations, minimize costs, and maximize shareholders’ returns. This is the 3rd company Mr. Hutson has founded. The previous two, HRM Resources, LLC and Paladin Energy Partners, were grown and successfully divested of in 2011 and 2006 respectively.
Mr. Hutson is a 1982 graduate of Colorado School of Mines with a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering. In March of 2004, Mr. Hutson was appointed by Gov. Bill Owens to the Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees and was re-appointed in January 2009 by Gov. Bill Ritter. During his dual terms of service, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees as well as the Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee. Mr. Hutson is also the past President of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association and currently serves on as an Advisory Board member. In 2011 & 2014, Gov. John Hickenlooper appointed Mr. Hutson to the Colorado Limited Gaming Commission which oversees Colorado’s casino operations, and he presently acts as the Chairman of the Commission. In 2014 Mayor Michael Hancock appointed Mr. Hutson to the Judicial Nomination Commission whose responsibility it is to present nominations to the Mayor for appointment to the Denver County Court Bench. Mr. Hutson also joined the Board of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in 2015 and is the Co-Chair of the Development Committee. In 2016 Mr. Hutson was pleased to join the Board of St Joes Hospital.
