Job Description: 

The Senior Audit Manager acting on behalf of the Auditor of State is responsible for exercising due professional care while performing special audits of various public entities, including: state agencies, counties, townships, school districts municipalities, villages, libraries, special districts and private organizations that receive public funds. Special audits are limited scope engagements designed to investigate, substantiate, and quantify instances of fraud or theft at our government clients. A Senior Audit Manager has overall responsibility for special audits pursuant to the authority delegated to him/her as a fiduciary of the Auditor of State. This includes supervisory responsibility for Audit Manager and lower-level Staff Auditors in the performance of multiple concurrent special audit engagements. Applicants should possess strong project management and analytical skills, creativity in execution of audit plans, high levels of personal and professional integrity and excellent communication skills. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field. Experience with governmental financial accounting, reporting and auditing is desirable and experience in financial fraud examination is a plus.  Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Fraud Examiner may benefit the applicant.  Interested individuals should apply by Friday, July 26.
