Host A Downlink Site in Your Area This live satellite training will be broadcast from a television station in Chicago, Illinois, via a KU band and C-band satellite. In order to view the broadcast, access to a steerable, analog satellite dish is required. This program is not broadcast via the Internet. Contact your organization’s training/AV director and ask if they can organize a satellite downlink site in your area. If your organization does not have satellite capability, try contacting your local school districts, colleges/junior colleges and universities, local library, city/county buildings, and/or police/fire departments. Site CoordinatorThe site coordinator is the primary person responsible for the program at your location. Most correspondence with this person will be through e-mail. The GFOA will produce a Site Coordinator Manual, which will be e-mailed prior to the broadcast. This manual will provide coordinators with detailed information on all of their responsibilities and will include the satellite coordinates. The GFOA typically receives the satellite coordinates 2-3 weeks prior to the broadcast. Marketing As a host downlink site, you are not responsible for the marketing of the program. However, anything you can do to help promote the training and your participation is always welcomed. Suggestions to help promote your downlink site include:
