This training is designed for finance staff, program managers, project managers, and others responsible for developing and managing the budget for a capital project. The class will go into following the major phases of a capital project budget from estimation to close-out to communicating key financial information with stakeholders and cover technical and management skills necessary at each phase.
After the capital improvement plan (CIP) is set, organizations must develop and manage the specific capital project budget to implement the vision in the CIP. This class will cover all phases of capital project budget formulation and implementation. Specific focus will be on estimating costs, managing vendors, project cash flow analysis, use of contingency, project oversight, budget monitoring, estimating operating impacts, and communicating financial information to key stakeholders.
