Governments face pressure from a variety of fronts to make data readily accessible. However, not all transparency efforts provide the same benefits nor are all without expenses and burden to the government. This session will provide a discussion of current efforts to both develop and mandate the use of machine-readable reporting by governments, basic explanations of the technology and how it might affect your government, and alternative technologies that might be less burdensome for governments.
