Plan and direct all City financial functions to accurately account for financial transactions and funds, and provide financial planning, analysis and management. Responsible for managing all finance and accounting functions, operating and capital budgets, annual audit, and utility billing. Directs human resource functions including health, flexible spending, property, liability, casualty insurance programs. Attends City Council meetings to answer questions and provide information as requested. Performs other duties necessary as assigned by City Administrator. Monitors the implementation and use of financial software systems Coordinate and supervise department staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications for the position include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, five years of progressively responsible experience in finance administration or accounting, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity, and municipal government experience or private consulting experience working with local governments. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
