City Auditor’s Office is an independent office that reports and is accountable to the Audit Committee and City Council. The Office employs 22 FTE’s who conduct performance audits of City departments, offices and agencies. The Office also administers the City's Fraud Hotline program and performs investigations complaints received for fraud, waste, and abuse.
City Auditor is appointed by the Mayor in consultation with the Audit Committee, and confirmed by the City Council. The City Auditor serves a 10-year term.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Police, Public Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) and ten years of increasingly responsible operations or performance auditing, management systems analysis and/or financial management evaluation experience are preferred. Professional designation of Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Public Accountant is required.
