Job Summary: Participates in the routine processing of the City's payroll functions and works with the Principal Payroll & Financial Systems Analyst to plan for and conduct non-routine processes. Identifies and troubleshoots payroll processing problems and coordinates efforts to resolve problems and improve ongoing operations. Requires: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration or a closely related field. Four years of recent, paid and progressively responsible Finance experience, of which two years are in Payroll. Preferably two years of the recent, paid work experience includes leading and coordinating the work of others or one year of leading and coordinating the work of others and successful completion of the City of Santa Monica's Pre-Supervisory Academy.
