The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Financial Accountant in the Controller’s Office. This position is responsible for the University’s daily and monthly reporting functions, including special requests for information and one-time reports, as well as preparation and oversight of certain monthly and annual accounts reconciliation. The position assists with the preparation of year-end financial statements and tax returns, and interacts with University system and independent auditors regarding the preparation of those statements, returns and related reports. This position oversees the University’s recharge program, which includes approving recharge rates for cost centers in accordance with federal regulations and providing guidance to University departments on recharge issues. In addition, the position conducts training for campus users relating to accounting for and administration of recharge accounts as well as general university accounting policies and procedures. The position also performs special tasks and projects as assigned by the University Controller in support of the University’s financial accounting system and related activities.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and five years of related professional work experience OR a Master’s Degree and three years of related professional work experience. Related experience: professional experience in a college or university, non-profit or governmental accounting environment.
Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
