JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the operations and functioning of Lake County departments, not only in the typical areas of ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, minimizing risk and improving efficiency, but also with the goal of operational excellence.

As Lake County’s Internal Review Manager, a newly created position, you would develop and execute the County’s internal review and financial risk plan and take the lead role in the execution of the reviews. The Internal Review Manager will work collaboratively with County departments to proactively identify business risks and evaluate the controls in place to mitigate those risks. The Internal Review Manager will also provide value-added advice and support to departments on the creation or modification of policies, procedures, processes, products or services to ensure an appropriate level of internal control and compliance is maintained. In order to be successful in this role you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field and eight years of experience. Individuals should have a working knowledge of ERP systems and their application to administrative processes; possess experience coordinating, leading and managing internal reviews; be an effective communicator; and have a passion for strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
