Fiscal/Administrative Division Manager
The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is accepting applications for a Fiscal/Administrative Division Manager.
Are you an experienced accounting professional ready for a new, long-term management opportunity? Do you have a strong background in preparing and monitoring budgets, developing long-term fiscal plans, and preparing financial statements? Have you administered grants, participated in labor negotiations, managed and mentored staff, and assisted with new systems? Are you well-versed in GAAP, GASB, and governmental finance practices and reporting requirements? If you have experience in many of these areas, desire to be an integral part of a dynamic management team and are passionate about collaborating and supporting diverse district programs to achieve their goals, we want you on our team! We’re seeking a talented and motivated Financial and Administrative Division Manager who will be responsible for the budgetary, fiscal, administrative, technology, and human resource functions of the District.
THE SAN LUIS OBISPO APCD:
The APCD is an independent local agency working to protect the health of over 280,000 county residents in beautiful San Luis Obispo County on California’s Central Coast. With a mission to protect air quality, the District focuses on business assistance and education. By partnering with the local community to implement pollution-reducing regulations and programs, the District moves the county forward towards attainment of state and federal air quality standards. The District is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of 12 elected officials, representing each district of the county and the seven incorporated cities. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Characteristics of the ideal candidate include:
- Experience in a broad range of governmental accounting, human resources, technology, and administrative related areas
- Fiscally responsible with a strong work ethic
- Transparent management style, experienced supervisor, and effective mentor
- Collaborative, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage work and meet project deadlines while keeping day-to-day activities running smoothly
- CPA / CPFO preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or a related field, including 8 semester units or 12 quarter units of accounting. (Job-related, professional-level experience may substitute for the required education, except for the required accounting units, on a year-for-year basis.) In addition, five years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting applications, budgetary and/or administrative management, two years of which must be at a supervisory or program administrator level.
