Senior Accountant

Carmichael Water District would like to fill one vacancy within its Finance Department as a Senior Accountant. This position reports to the Finance Manager.

Seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in accounting (GAAP/GASB), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Key responsibilities include the following:

• Managing the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and preparation and maintenance of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/GASB
• Performing bank and general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis, including the preparation of journal entries to ensure accuracy
• Overseeing capital asset management and depreciation schedules
• Performing cost analyses and budget reporting/forecasts to support the District’s objectives
• Maintaining compliance with multiple reporting standards and regulatory agencies (including Federal and State grantors)
• Assisting with managing complex accounting projects including annual financial statement audits and Single Audits
