Vivian Calkins-McGettigan, MBA, CPA, CPFO, CIA, CFE
Vivian Calkins-McGettigan, MBA, CPA, CPFO, CIA, CFE has been the Deputy County Administrator for York County Virginia since 2013, following over 25 years of progressive local government finance and management experience. She provides collaborative oversight and management for the departments of Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Libraries and the Real Estate Assessment Office. In addition, she serves as the liaison between County Administration and the Commissioner of the Revenue, the Treasurer and Voter Registrar. Prior to joining the County she was the Chief Internal Auditor for Prince William County Schools where she created the first Office of Internal Audit for the 15,000 employee school division. She also served as Hanover County’s Director of Finance and as the Fauquier County Government and Schools Finance Director.
Vivian is a Past President of the Virginia Government Finance Officers Association. She is on the GFOA’s CPFO Council on Certification. She serves on the Executive Board for the National Association of County Administrators (NACA), VACo’s Finance and Conference Committees, as well as chairing VLGMA’s Civic Engagement Committee. She has also served as an adjunct accounting professor for the University of Richmond and has written several articles on local government accounting and finance for several professional journals.
She received a Bachelor of Accountancy in 1986 and a Master’s of Business Administration in Accountancy in 1987 from The George Washington University and she is 2009 graduate of Senior Executive Institute. Vivian became a Certified Public Accountant in 1988, a GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer in 2005, a Certified Internal Auditor 2011 and a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2011.
