The Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) is a dynamic, progressive, recognized award-winning agency dedicated to providing housing opportunities to more than 18,000 residents. HACA owns/manages 1,256 public housing units, 582 Project-Based Rental Assistance (PRBA) units converted through RAD, and administers over 6,000 tenant-based vouchers. HACA has 245 employees and an annual operating budget of over $90 million. The agency receives pass-through funding of over $377 million annually and has a current value of more than $400 million in assets. The VP/CFO reports to the President/CEO, serves as the Treasurer, and is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, deal analysis and negotiations, partnership compliance, private and institutional financing, and auditing for HACA and its subsidiaries. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration, or a related field and ten (10) years of experience in financial and accounting management, financial analysis, budgeting system, and computerized accounting systems, five (5) years of which should be in a senior management role at a public or housing type of organization. A combination of education and appropriate experience will be given consideration with preference given to applicants with an MBA or an active CPA certificate.
