Job Description: 

Loudoun County’s Department of Finance and Procurement is seeking qualified candidates with strong analytical and supervisory skills who thrive in a fast paced work environment to fill a full-time position of Financial Manager. This position oversees the County’s accounts receivable and Oracle supplier and vendor database. Essential functions include providing ongoing evaluation of internal controls focused on fraud prevention; researching and providing technical assistance and guidance for special projects and board initiatives; developing the Popular Annual Financial Report; performing complex analyses; recommending and updating policies and procedures based on best practices; conducting training sessions; performing internal reviews of financial transactions; and developing departmental performance measures. Supervises a staff of two employees. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field with a minimum of four professional level experience in accounting administration and/or team project leadership which must include staff supervisor. Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills are necessary. Knowledge of principles of governmental accounting and public sector finance is preferred. Prior experience working with a major ERP system, such as Oracle, in a medium to large organization is desirable. Credit and background check will be conducted on the successful candidate.
