Manager, Tax and Intergovernmental Revenue #21486 Finance Department Treasury Office Location: Newmarket, Ontario. This is a Non-Union position. Full-Time, Salary $113,234 – $133,191 annually
Reporting to the Director, Treasury Office, is responsible for providing comprehensive strategic advice on property tax policy and other intergovernmental revenue sources, manages the administration and analysis of property tax and non-development charge revenue, leads the monitoring, devising and evaluating of appropriate strategies for inter-governmental infrastructure funding. Qualifications • Successful completion of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a large multi-divisional organization with responsibility for modelling, forecasting, analysis and public policy development, including two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience. • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, standards, acts and regulations. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for writing reports and briefing notes and making presentations to all levels of the corporation, including Committee and Council. • Strong analytical skills to interpret reports, data, studies etc., identify problems and make evidence-based recommendations. • Strong research and financial modeling skills to develop long-term financial forecasts with project management skills to meet program objectives and work to tight deadlines. • Demonstrated knowledge of financial and economic principles and practices • Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including communication, innovation, teamwork and collaboration, and personal ownership. • Leadership competencies including operating strategically, leveraging diversity and differences, customer focused, ensuring accountability, managing complex problems, financial management, employing interactive and effective communication, fostering collaborative relationships, cultivating engagement to drive vision and purpose, managing and developing talent, establishing and maintaining trust, displaying self-awareness, and demonstrating resiliency. • Contemporary supervisory and human resource management skills, knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices and relevant employment legislation. • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications. • Ability to travel to off-site locations, in a timely and efficient manner, as required. • Ability to work outside regular hours, as required.
