Ideally located along U.S. Highway 75 in Collin County, and part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, Fairview encompasses 8.8 square miles and is home to approximately 9,500 people. Since 2012, the Town of Fairview has been recognized by D Magazine as one of the Top DFW suburbs and is known for its natural beauty, excellent schools, and low crime rate.
The Town of Fairview operates under a home rule charter with a council-manager form of government. Under the supervision of the Town Manager, the CFO is responsible for directing the financial affairs of the Town and managing the functions of the department. This position is responsible for preparation of the Town's annual budget and the development and maintenance of the Town's financial reports, accounting practices, and fiscal records.
The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or public administration and have five (5) years of accounting work experience, including three (3) years of financial management experience in the public sector. An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of the principles of governmental budgeting, auditing, finance, and accounting. A Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
