Founded in 1940, the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) is an award-winning public housing authority designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a high-performer for its assisted housing programs. NRHA is seeking candidates for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the strategic management of the financial operations for the Authority and its instrumentalities. The CFO oversees approximately 35 direct and indirect staff in four departments: Finance, Structured Finance, Administrative Services, and Budget and Compliance. The CFO also oversees the planning and execution of an annual operating and program budget in excess of $116 million. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance or a related field, plus a minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible administrative and financial management experience. At least five (5) years of experience must be in a senior management capacity. An equivalent combination of training, education and substantial relevant experience will be given consideration; a Master’s degree is preferred. A current certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required. The starting salary is open, dependent upon qualifications. Position is open until filled.
