Responsibilities include: managing a professional staff of seven with responsibility for the collection of all taxes, licenses, fees, and other moneys belonging to the City subject to the provisions of the charter and City ordinances, and enforcing all laws relating to the collection of delinquent taxes and the sale or foreclosure for nonpayment of taxes to the City. This is a working manager position and is appointed by the City Council with general supervision by the City Manager.
The minimum job requirements are: a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a closely related field plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field; a CPA preferred; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Requires knowledge of general ledger, GASB and GAAP. Must possess, or obtain within 18 months of hire, a Local Government Finance Officer Program Level I Certification. Proficient with modern office technology and must have a valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
A solid working knowledge of Tyler Technologies' Incode (version X) financial management software a plus.
