The City of Palo Alto is recruiting for a dynamic leader to serve as the Finance Manager to oversee the 16 person accounting division. As a full-service Charter City with a council-manager form of government Palo Alto has a reputation for being progressive and innovated while maintaining financial reporting requirements at a high caliber within its over $600 million annual budget.
The Administrative Service Department is looking for an individual that will mirror this cutting edge community focusing on innovation while maintaining the financial rigor necessary to continue to uphold excellence in regulating agency reporting requirements. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills through experience in public sector accounting with lead responsibility in preparing the CAFR (typically an Accounting or Finance Manager)and possession of an active CPA is highly desirable. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director in the Department, technical areas of oversight include: accounts payables/receivables, general ledgers, payroll and enterprise accounting.
