The City of Medford is a full-service city with 11 operating departments, 482 FTEs and a 2017-2019 biennial budget of $295 million. The Finance Department consists of 11 FTEs, and Municipal Court, which is currently under Finance, has 8 FTEs. The biennial budget for Finance is $2.8 million and $2.5 million for Municipal Court.
Under the general administrative direction of the City Manager, the Chief Financial Officer/Assistant City Manager oversees citywide fiscal responsibilities, directs the control of city finances and the City Treasury, and administers and reviews fiscal, organizational, management, and procedural operations of the various city departments and divisions. The CFO/ACM provides support to the City Manager, and acts as the City Manager or Deputy City Manager in his/her absence.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, along with current technical and professional knowledge of complex principles, methods, standards, and techniques associated with the responsibilities of the position is required. A master’s degree and CPA, or related certification is preferred.
