Clackamas County's Business and Community Services (BCS) is seeking an experienced professional who has a track record of collaboration, communication, and organizational development to be our next Deputy Director.
This critical leadership position manages central administrative and program functions for BCS by planning and developing budgets, projecting financial trends, assisting in developing and implementing policies, and performing personnel management, contract management and development, and executive liaison duties.
The Deputy Director of BCS is responsible for planning, coordinating and administering a comprehensive system of management functions in accordance with revenue and expenditure limitations, department requirements and legal guidelines. The incumbent acts as the department director in his/her absence and provides direction to all division managers to facilitate operational planning, delivery and outcomes for all programs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in management of administrative projects or programs for a public agency. Successful candidates will possess strong budgetary and finance experience, supervisory experience, good judgment and problem solving skills for a variety of administrative challenges in a multifaceted organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, sound judgment, superb interpersonal skills, interacts tactfully with others, has a flexible work style in order to achieve results, exhibits organizational acumen, possess a strong attention to detail and enjoys working in a fast-paced, politically-charged environment. We are looking for a candidate who will employ a hands-on, proactive, and collaborative approach that builds trust and develops positive, open relationships in all aspects of operations, including the supervision and leadership of BCS employees. This individual must be comfortable handling complex initiatives with minimal oversight as they play a key role in BCS's commitment to the community it serves.

BENEFITS The salary range for this position is $109,009.77 – $147,163.40 annually (plus 6% retirement contribution). The actual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to competitive wages, Clackamas County offers an attractive benefits package for employees:
