Serves as administrator for all fiscal services for State’s child welfare agency; formulates policies and procedures to maximize agency resources while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws. • Directs budget development, financial management, federal financial participation, rate setting, payroll and field audits. • Leads staff of 100+ and works collegially with multiple DCFS division managers and fiscal officers from other state agencies. • Represents DCFS director and the agency before the private sector, other state agencies and the General Assembly regarding fiscal management issues.
Candidate profile: • Equivalent of bachelor’s degree and four years of administrative experience in business or public service required. • Ideal candidate will possess advanced degree, several years of progressively responsible experience leading complex fiscal operations, familiarity with government and/or non-profit sector, and extensive staff management experience.
About the position: • DCFS fiscal operations are headquartered in Springfield, Illinois. Springfield-based candidates are preferred. • Chicago-based candidates will be considered, but routine travel to Springfield is an expectation.
