The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia is seeking candidates for the position of Finance Director. The Finance Director oversees the financial operations of Athens-Clarke County. The Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing accounting, financial services, purchasing, and budget management services, as well as, other projects as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in business, accounting, or public administration, with five years of financial management experience (local government preferred) required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Five years supervisory experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and procurement required Certification as a Finance Officer Level I in Georgia is preferred. Final candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment process that includes a thorough background investigation of employment, educational history, driving history, criminal history, and credit history. This position is a professional level position (at-will) and serves at the discretion of the Athens-Clarke County Manager.
