On June 26, 2018, Chris Daniel, CIO of the City of Albuquerque, NM, will be testifying on behalf of GFOA before the full U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. The hearing, entitled “Legislative Proposals to Increase Access to Capital”, will focus on several pieces of legislation currently under the Committee’s review. Mr. Daniel will be testifying on GFOA’s support of S. 1117, the Consumer Financial Choice and Capital Markets Protection Act of 2017, a bill seeking to address changes in recent years by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on money market mutual funds.
