Rana D. Lacer, CPA, CGMA
Rana Lacer is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). The LVCVA is the destination marketing organization for Las Vegas and Southern Nevada, and its mission centers on creating the world’s most desirable destination for leisure and business travel. The LVCVA also owns and operates the Las Vegas Convention Center and Cashman Center.
Ms. Lacer is key member of the senior executive team, reporting directly to the President/CEO, and plays a strategic role in the overall management of the organization. She provides leadership in the development and implementation of short and long-term objectives to achieve the LVCVA’s mission and vision. She advises the President and Board of Directors on organizational policy matters, operating programs and regulatory issues.
Ms. Lacer has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, procurement, property accountability, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and financing. She is in charge of the financial administration and control of more than $940 million in assets, with an annual budget exceeding $500 million. Her leadership has resulted in the annual receipt of numerous national industry awards reflecting the integrity and reliability of the LVCVA’s financial controls including:

Ms. Lacer has been with the LVCVA since 2008. Prior to joining the LVCVA, she worked as director of finance for the cities of Killeen, Texas and Lansing, Kansas.
Ms. Lacer is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a chartered global management accountant (CGMA). She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Government Finance Officers Association. She serves on the GFOA’s Committee for Economic Development and Capital Planning (CEDCP).
Ms. Lacer received her bachelor’s degree in accounting with summa cum laude honors from Austin Peay State University. She is a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Las Vegas program.
