The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Citys Budget Director and Grants Compliance Manager. Grants Financial Administration: Position provides financial support in administering state and federal grants with a focus on processing and recording financial transactions, preparation of financial reports, and analyses of federal and state grants. Responsible for reviewing grant payments for appropriate documentation, compiling and submitting grant reimbursement requests, reconciling of grant accounts, and maintaining controls for all grant general ledger and appropriation accounts as assigned. This position is also responsible for performing sub-recipient financial monitoring visits, working closely with grant programmatic staff, and performing other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Knowledge of various OMB circulars governing federal grants, with a focus on Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants.
Experience using HUDs Integrated Disbursement & Information System (IDIS) as well as other federal and state grant reporting systems. The ability to maintain financial and accounting records in accordance with GAAP is essential. Must have strong analytical skills and organizational skills. Must have the proven ability to conduct independent analysis and interpret results; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field. Minimum of three years experience in accounting, auditing, or financial management; experience in municipal grant administration preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
