If anything brought strong support from Congress in the 119th, it was the need to address housing affordability across the country. HR1 not only expanded the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, but also extended the Opportunity Zones (OZ) program, which encourages long-term investment in economically distressed areas, including rural communities.
This session will explain how programs like LIHTC and OZ work and explore best practices from communities across the country that are addressing housing affordability.
