Update on Federal Programs to Support Affordable Housing
If anything brought strong support from Congress in the 119th, it was the need to address housing affordability across the country. HR1 not only expanded the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, but also extended the Opportunity Zones (OZ) program, which encourages long-term investment in economically distressed areas, including rural communities.
