Project FAQ

What types of projects should go on the map?

Any governmental purpose would be great! Fire stations, schools, water facilities, sidewalks, etc!

How long ago does the project have to be built?

Anytime! Sometimes the more nostalgic, the better! But a recent project in the news works great as well.

Does the project have to be 100% bond financed?

Find a project that wouldn’t have been built if not for municipal bonds – even if a small portion of it was financed or funded differently.

Who will see this project?

Anyone who has access to the internet can see the map. It will be shared on our website (builtbybonds.com) with our partners (NLC, NACo, NACWA, ACI-NA, APPA, NCSHA, APTA, etc.) to share even wider – we plan to get thousands of projects on this map to show the usefulness of the municipal bond.

Why do you ask for my name and contact information?

Only to verify the information if we have any questions. Your personal information will not display on the map at all.

When do you need this by?

ASAP please so we can get even more on the map! Our goal is to get multiple projects per congressional district. The more the merrier!

What should I say to describe the project?

What would this project have cost you if not for municipal bonds? And what does the project do for your community?

Do I really need to submit a picture?

Yes! Don’t forget a picture - it helps to paint the picture of the infrastructure fabric across our country. Ok also if you need to submit renderings!

I am a state/metro/water system/transit system and my project that was #builtbybonds spans multiple districts. What address should I use?

If there is a primary office or plant facility with a physical address, feel free to use that. If the project is extremely expansive, feel free to also include your response to the "importance of the project" field things like how many customers or the geographic regions served.

Another person has entered a project in my jurisdiction, what do I do?

Enter your project too! The more the merrier.
