GFOA currently offers five types of scholarships. Students interested in future scholarship opportunities should keep in mind the following:
Eligibility for scholarship awards:
- Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada
- Plan to pursue a career in state/provincial or local government finance
- Student has not been a past winner of a GFOA scholarship.

The 2024 academic scholarship application window is now open. The deadline to apply is December 29, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. (Central). Click here to apply.

GFOA offers 11 scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
GFOA has announced the recipients of its 2023 scholarships. These scholarships total $119,000.
